Lady Gaga carried a bold leopard print tote with black leather trim to the MTV Video Music Aid Japan event. Lady Gaga knows no bounds when it comes to breaking with traditional conceptions of beauty. At the MTV Video Music Aid Japan event, Gaga painted her eyelids to look like an animé heroine. Tackling the red carpet with closed eyes? Not that is dedication!

Julia Roberts has been at the top ranks of Hollywood royalty for so long that it’s unusual to see her sharing a movie with another star of similar status. (Because, really, how many are there?) Next week’s ‘Larry Crowne’ is one such rare summit meeting, reuniting her with Tom Hanks (who also directed). Hanks plays a man who goes back to college when he finds himself jobless in mid-career; Roberts is a teacher who’s similarly in need of a fresh start. Continue reading »
Google Fortune’s Best Companies
When you talk about great companies to work at, Google is a consistent mention going back many years. Some Googlers shared their stories about why it’s consistently such a great place, and about what they didn’t like, too.

I spoke to a sales financial analyst (name withheld) who shared her thoughts about why she “absolutely loved” working for Google. “It has a great laid-back atmosphere that I think contributes to a productive work environment. The perks such as free food, subsidized massages, free laundry, free shuttle services from the city and year-end bonus surprises made working for Google that much more fun.” Continue reading »
A successful golf career requires a good education, plenty of proven experience, or both. In this respect, the golf industry is just like any other industry. Choosing a good golf school might not seem as easy as it is to identify a good four-year college, because there are fewer word-of-mouth reviews about them. Here are some tips for taking control and making sure you choose the school that will give you the best education you can get.

If you are considering a few different golf schools already, ask employers which school they would prefer to see on your resume.

Energy sources of the (near) future ; Electricity can be generated in a near limitless number of ways — from massive nuclear plants to the smallest rooftop solar system. However, each particular method comes with its own set of costs and drawbacks.
Coal-fired plants, for example, emit harmful greenhouse gas emissions. Renewable sources like wind power have engendered community opposition because of concerns about potential health and environmental concerns. And in the wake of the recent earthquake in Japan — and subsequent radioation leaks — many are wary of nuclear power.

Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz; March 24, 1874 – October 31, 1926) was a Hungarian-born American magician and escapologist, stunt performer, actor and film producer noted for his sensational escape acts. He was also a skeptic who set out to expose frauds purporting to be supernatural phenomena.
I was born in Buenos Aires Argentina to an Italian mother and a Brazilian father. My parents divorced by the time I was three years old, thrusting my mother into single parenthood. I was moved around a lot while growning up. By age 14, I had changed schools about 7 times and had lived in about 20 residences. Rather than take this as “hardships” I truly believe that it helped prepare me for the many changes that life is sure to bring.
